When Ann found out that her daughter Alice was born with Down syndrome, she was determined to prepare for the many unknowns. When Ann researched information and resources, a friend told her about ABLEnow accounts.
“Finding out about ABLEnow was such a relief and comfort to me,” said Ann.
When Ann learned about the benefits of ABLEnow, she knew it was the perfect solution for her. Though Alice is only three, Ann knows that contributing a small, monthly amount sets Alice up for a successful future.
“ABLE is so important because sometimes people with special needs – Down syndrome or otherwise – have unique needs in terms of their health, housing, education and independence,” shares Ann. “ABLE accounts take this into consideration and help families and individuals prepare for these expenses.”
Ann recommends ABLEnow accounts to other families as a convenient way to save for greater financial security, more independence, and a better quality of life.
Ann and her husband Tim live in Ohio with their three young children and one on the way. Both Ann and her husband come from big families of their own. Ann expressed, “We always wanted a big family. Down syndrome was an unexpected turn in that journey – and we love our tour guide!”
