Connecting Children with Adaptive Equipment

A new television show, sponsored by ABLEnow, highlights a resource for thousands of Virginia families who need costly wheelchairs, walkers, standers and adaptive strollers for a child with disabilities.

Children’s Assistive Technology Service (CATS) provides children across Virginia with refurbished pediatric rehabilitation equipment and assistive technology devices at no cost. Thanks to this equipment, children can play with friends and siblings, have more opportunities for learning, and be more independent.

To spotlight CATS and the children and families it serves, ABLEnow sponsored an episode of BUZZ, a television program airing on Virginia public television stations Blue Ridge PBS and VPM in Fall 2021. The full episode is also available on the BUZZ YouTube channel.

BUZZ is a television program of the American Advertising Federation of Roanoke (AAF Roanoke), whose membership provides pro bono resources to the nonprofits featured in the show.

Viewers will learn about ABLEnow from a 30-second video during the show. In addition, ABLEnow will partner with CATS throughout the year to provide families with educational information about tax-advantaged ABLE accounts.
